    What's the story

Rajesh A Krishnan's comedy heist film Crew, which hit theaters on March 29, continues to ride high at the box office even after 24 days.

Featuring three leading ladies of Bollywood, Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon, the film is on the brink of crossing the ₹75cr mark after nearly a month in theaters.

On its 24th day, Crew pulled in an estimated ₹1.25cr, maintaining its momentum.

    Box office collection

'Crew' maintained a steady revenue stream

After a strong start in its first week with ₹43.75cr, followed by a steady second week bringing in ₹21.45cr, the film experienced a dip in collections during its third week, totaling just ₹6.65cr due to competition from other major releases.

However, on its 24th day, the film regained momentum, earning an estimated ₹1.25cr on Sunday, per Sacnilk.

With this, its nett India collection now stands at ₹74.63cr, it is expected to cross the ₹75cr mark on Monday.

    Audience response

    'Crew' attracted consistent audience turnover

Despite facing tough competition from other films like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Maidaan, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, and Do Aur Do Pyaar, Crew has managed to maintain its appeal among moviegoers.

The film reported an impressive Hindi occupancy rate of 21.66% on Sunday.

The audience turnover rate was recorded to be 9.95% for morning shows, 25.04% for afternoon shows, 31.54% for evening shows, and 20.12% for night shows.

    About the film

Everything to know about the film

Crew, backed by Ektaa Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, features comedian-actor Kapil Sharma and singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh in supporting roles.

Conspicuously inspired by the downfall of Kingfisher Airlines, the movie portrays Vijay Walia (Saswata Chatterjee) as the head honcho of Kohinoor Airlines.

After he announces his company's bankruptcy, Jasmine (Kapoor Khan), Geeta (Tabu), and Divya (Sanon)—three flight attendants for Kohinoor—fed up with Walia's greed, decide to take matters into their own hands by embarking on a daring heist.

    Industry reaction

Meanwhile, Vidya Balan recently praised 'Crew' for its impact

In a recent conversation with Indian Express, actor Vidya Balan praised Crew for its influence on the Hindi film industry.

"Not all macho blockbusters are doing well," she noted, emphasizing the need to recognize this trend.

Balan expressed her excitement about the success of a film led by three women of their age group and added that Crew was "so much fun" because the lead actors didn't take themselves too seriously.

Balan recently graced screens with Do Aur Do Pyaar.
