In the interest of full disclosure, I am not a The Big Bang Theory fan.
However, even I have to admit that the show is a good example of bromance, both between Howard and Raj and Sheldon and Leonard.
It also brings some intelligent humor and good performances to the table.
With the finale approaching, we look at the show's 5 best episodes.
Episode 1
The Tangerine Factor (S01 Ep17): Start of something special
The Big Bang Theory is a show that combines science and humor in everyday events.
Schrodinger's Cat is one of the most famous science experiments referred to by Sheldon when Penny is doubtful if dating Leonard would ruin her friendship with him.
Sheldon points out the equal potentiality of good and bad in Penny's relationship with Leonard and urges her to take the next step.
Episode 2
The Love Spell Potential (S06 Ep23): Howard steals the show
Howard Wolowitz plays an understated character, and actor Simon Helberg does a brilliant job.
However, in this episode, Howard stole the show when replacing Leonard as a taskmaster in a Dungeons & Dragons game.
Although Sheldon was initially skeptical, Howard soon wowed him by impersonating voices of Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, Nicolas Cage and even his friend Raj, who left early for a date.
Episode 3
The Opening Night Excitation (S09 Ep11): Love is sacrifice
Sheldon and Amy Farrah Fowler's relationship has been rocky and awkward but equally tender throughout the seasons.
However, in this episode, Sheldon decided to surprise Amy on her birthday by consummating their relationship.
He even skipped the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in order to spend the night with Amy.
Show writers executed this crucial moment perfectly with some humor and sweetness.
Episode 4
The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis (S02 Ep11): Thoughts count
Sheldon has a theory of gift exchange. The item must be 'of commensurate value and representing the same perceived level of friendship as that represented by the gift' he receives.
However, his friend Penny gifts him a napkin used by Star Trek's Leonard Nimoy.
Sheldon, the fanboy, is so pleased with Nimoy's DNA that he showers material gifts and gives Penny a rare hug.
Episode 5
The Staircase Implementation (S03 Ep22): Friends always stick together
The episode gives backstories into Leonard-Sheldon's friendship and the non-functioning elevator.
Sheldon prevented Leonard from divulging secrets to a North-Korean spy while working on rocket-fuel for the US military.
He also saved Leonard's life, from an experiment mishap, throwing it down the elevator shaft, thus destroying it.
Sheldon's loyalty, in not reporting Leonard to the landlord, police and Homeland Security, led to their friendship.
