    What's the story

South Delhi's darling Bella (Ananya Panday) ditches her tiara for a tray in the upcoming series Call Me Bae. The trailer was released on Tuesday.

The Prime Video series, set to premiere on September 6, promises a hilarious transformation as the spoilt heiress navigates the world of everyday struggles.

From luxury cars to long commutes, Panday's character is set to surprise audiences with her comedic timing.

    Plot details

The series explores the life of a former heiress

Call Me Bae is an eight-part series that tracks the life of Bae, a former South Delhi heiress, as she tackles the everyday struggles of life in Mumbai.

In the trailer, Panday's character Bella, aka Bae, embodies glitz, glam, and style.

However, her life takes a dramatic turn when she's thrust into the "middle-class" world and relocates to a new city to earn everything on her own.

Will this princess manage to live like an ordinary person?

Along with Panday, the series also stars Vir Das, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.

The character posters, released on Monday, introduced each cast member and their relationship with Panday's character.

The series is written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair, and directed by Collin D'Cunha.

The show is bankrolled by Dharmatic Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra serving as executive producers.

    Character details

Panday discussed her character in a promotional video

In a recent promotional video, Panday was seen discussing her character Bae with producer Johar.

She expressed her excitement about the role, which is a departure from the high-class princess characters she is often typecast as.

The video humorously highlights Panday's part as Bae, with the actor looking forward to portraying the "regular person struggle" of her character.

Call Me Bae will be available for streaming globally across 240 countries starting September 6.
