    What's the story

The action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, has achieved the ₹50 crore milestone on its eighth day in theaters.

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the movie premiered on April 11.

Despite a significant decline in box office performance since its release, it managed to garner ₹1.6 crore nett on Thursday (April 18), pushing its total earnings to ₹50.15 crore.

    Revenue decline

Film's underwhelming performance despite hefty budget

Despite a substantial production budget of ₹350 crore, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has seen less than impressive revenue.

By its fifth day in cinemas, the film's earnings plummeted by 72%, amounting to only ₹43.4 crore across India.

This significant drop solidified its underwhelming box office status, with an overall occupancy rate of just 8.34% on Thursday.

    Attendance decline

Audience attendance drops, hopes for Cinema Lovers Day

The film has also seen a decrease in audience attendance. In Mumbai, out of 383 shows, only 10% were filled.

The situation was slightly worse in Delhi and NCR where out of 500 shows, the occupancy rate was a mere 8.25%.

Despite these setbacks at the box office, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is projected to see a surge in ticket sales on Cinema Lovers Day (Friday), with tickets priced at ₹99 at various multiplexes nationwide.

    Film competition

Competition and cast of 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will have to compete with fresh releases such as Dibakar Banerjee's Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 and Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi's romantic comedy Do Aur Do Pyaar.

The film's cast includes Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F.

It went head-to-head with Ajay Devgn's sports biopic Maidaan at the box office, which also had a disappointing run despite receiving positive reviews.
