    Rapper Baba Sehgal's father passed away on Tuesday due to complications from COVID-19.

    He shared the news on his social media handles.

    He tweeted, "Dad left us today earlier morning.. Warrier the whole life but lost to Covid. Please keep him in your prayers. Stay Safe and Blessed (sic)."

    Along with that, he also posted a series of pictures of himself and his father.

    Abhishek Bachchan and many others offer their condolences

    Sehgal's father Jaspal was 87. After the rapper shared the heartbreaking news, condolences started pouring in from the industry.

    Actor Abhishek Bachchan wrote, "Deepest condolences. Prayers," while Vir Das posted, "I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending love to you and yours."

    Many others including Atul Kasbekar, Ken Ghosh, Kubbra Sait offered their condolences.

    Fans also joined the rapper-singer in grief.

    The 'Bigg Boss' contestant recently got himself vaccinated

    To note, Sehgal had gotten himself vaccinated against COVID-19 recently.

    The Bigg Boss contestant had also posted about it on social media.

    He shared a picture of himself getting the first dose of the vaccine, writing, "Got myself vaccinated today, Guys !! Have a good day! (sic)"

    Notably, many stars from Bollywood have gotten themselves vaccinated, including Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra and others.

    Sehgal had also made songs about battling COVID-19

    Sehgal, known for his distinct style of rapping, is one of the senior-most rap artists in India.

    Earlier, he had tried to spread awareness about the pandemic through his songs.

    He composed a song called Namaste, which tells ways of saving oneself from the virus in a fun way.

    He also made Vaccine Laga Lo Na, talking about the need to get COVID-19 vaccine.

    The cases of COVID-19 are increasing rapidly across the country, with as many as 1.84 lakh cases getting reported on Wednesday.

    Entertainment industry, which had resumed shoots amid restrictions, is also suffering as stars like Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and many others contracted the virus.

    Maharashtra has imposed a 15-day long curfew to curb the spread and all shoots have been halted.
