Fallon celebrates Christmas cheer on 'The Tonight Show', Ariana joins

The holiday season is upon us and all shows being broadcast are celebrating the Christmas cheer already.
The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon too celebrated the upcoming holiday in his own special way.
Needless to say, he combined both fun and nostalgia effortlessly in the song performance where he was joined by pop sensation Ariana Grande.

Reunion
Fallon got together with old co-stars to recreate magic
For those unaware, Fallon used to be part of the Saturday Night Live show, before hosting his own segment.
This time for Christmas, he decided to reunite with his old co-stars, Tracy Morgan, Chris Kattan, and Horatio Sanz, all alums of the show, to re-create a performance of their song, 'I Wish It Was Christmas Today'.
Notably, their first performance was over a decade ago.

Ariana joins Fallon, adds twist to old song
While those interested can check out their first performance in the video, the new performance had some added star power to it. Ariana, fresh off her success of 'Thank U, Next', joined in on the caroling and was recruited by Fallon himself.

Sanz and Fallon started performance, rest followed
Wearing red sweaters with snowflakes, to signal the Christmas cheer, Sanz and Fallon mouthed the words to the quirky tune and played the instruments.
Morgan, Kattan, and Grande swayed along to the song whose lyrics go 'All I know is Santa's sleigh is making its way to the USA/ I wish it was Christmas today'.
Post-performance, the stars bowed out to thunderous applause.

Opinion
The performance was truly nostalgia revoking
The performance, as Fallon intended, was truly nostalgia revoking.
Those who enjoyed the camaraderie of the stars on Saturday Night Live would appreciate the painstaking recreation.
The red sweaters were kept almost the same but added with snowflakes.
Morgan, on his part, recreated some signature moves from his original performance, and the falling snow all throughout was the icing on the performance (pun intended).
