On his 34th birthday today, Ranveer Singh treated his fans with his look from the upcoming movie '83 and we are bowled.
The actor, who is portraying Kapil Dev in '83, looks like a carbon copy of the legendary cricketer.
Ranveer's look has got social media buzzing, but it was the man himself, Kapil, who was quite surprised with the actor's transformation.

Ranveer sports a bushy moustache, hairdo just like Kapil Dev
In the photo, Ranveer, wearing all-white, is seen sporting a bushy moustache and hairdo just like the former all-rounder cricketing champ.
He is also seen flipping a leather ball in his hand with fierce looks in his eyes.
Unveiling the same, Ranveer wrote, "On my special day, here's presenting THE HARYANA HURRICANE KAPIL DEV."
The photo, unsurprisingly, has garnered over 17L likes already.

'Dekho yeh Ranveer bilkul meri tarah lag raha hai'
Talking about how Kapil has reacted, director Kabir Khan said that the ace cricketer was "pleasantly surprised and excited" at Ranveer's transformation.
"We were at his place in Sundar Nagar in Delhi and there were a lot of people present there. I remember him showing it to all his friends and relatives. Dekho yeh Ranveer bilkul meri tarah lag raha hai," he recalled.

Ranveer, Kabir are taking care of every small thing: Kapil
Earlier, Kapil had lauded Ranveer's dedication to get into the skin of the character.
"He and Kabir Khan are taking care of every small thing. They are taking care of how I speak, my pronunciation. Ranveer thought that since I'm a fast bowler, I must be aggressive and he wanted to learn how I express my anger," Kapil said on Breakfast with Champions.
Efforts
Make-up artists, technicians worked for two months for the look
Though Ranveer's look from '83 is getting a thumbs-up, it wasn't a cake-walk for him.
Kabir told Bombay Times that a special team of make-up artists and technicians worked for two months with different drafts to get this look.
"It was difficult because we didn't want to get into prosthetics. In sports, you have to play all day long under the sun," Kabir said.

"Prosthetics would have made it very difficult. So, we knew that we had to get a few key elements right. It was a long process. After eight days involving long sessions, we were able to transform Ranveer into Kapil," the Bajrangi Bhaijaan director added.

Apart from Ranveer, '83 also stars Ammy Virk, Saqib Saleem, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Pankaj Tripathi, Chirag Patil, Hardy Sandhu and others in the lead.
The movie will also feature Deepika Padukone playing Kapil's wife Romi Dev onscreen.
Interestingly, this will be Ranveer and Deepika's first movie together post their wedding in November 2018.
'83 is slated to release in April next year.
