    Gurgaon police busts sex racket operating in Sushant Lok's mall

    What's the story

    Gurgaon police cracked down a sex-racket that was operating out of a spa in Gold Souk mall in Sushant Lok-1. Six people including four women were arrested.

    A police officer was sent as a decoy-customer who paid Rs. 4,000 as an advance for a deal. A police team followed soon and found men and women in compromising position.

    Union housing minister: Delhi to have 1lakh flats by 2022

    While launching Delhi/delhi-development-authority'>Delhi Development Authority's (DDA) Aawasiya Yojana (housing scheme) 2017, Union housing and urban poverty alleviation minister M Venkaiah Naidu said the DDA has set a goal of building 20,000 new flats each year to meet the increasing housing needs of Delhi.

    Naidu said,"Our target is to give at least one lakh affordable houses to the people of Delhi by 2022."

    Residents of DLF, Sushant Lok suffer due to water shortage

    Residents from DLF Phases-1,2,3, Sushant Lok-1, have been reeling under acute water-crisis for the past 10 days now.

    Vinod Tayal,a member of DLF Phase 2 RWA, said,"Ordering water tankers was the only solution for us. Paying for water and then paying for water tankers is burning a hole in our pockets."

    According to residents, water supply is often disrupted often due to damaged pipelines.

    Ghaziabad

    Authorities open Vasundhara underpasses to prevent traffic congestion

    In a bid to ease traffic flow after the old bridge over the Hindon was closed, the old and new underpasses below the Delhi-Ghaziabad railway station near Vasundhara were thrown open for the people by the Ghaziabad development authority (GDA).

    The new two-lane underpass will ease traffic moving from NH-24, Indirapuram and Vasundhara towards Ghaziabad city.

    Squash players drag DDA to Delhi High Court

    Professional squash players moved the Delhi High Court and filed a plea, saying that despite paying for squash courts at Siri Fort sports complex, DDA staff wasn't letting them them play while availing coaching from experts.

    They maintained that DDA cannot prevent them from doing so as there are no rules that stop a player from receiving coaching in these facilities.

    Delhi Monsoon: Delhi breaks 14-year-old record

    As monsoon inched closer to the city, Delhi-NCR woke up to moderate to heavy showers and a cloudy sky. In some parts of Delhi, Noida and Gurugram, there were overnight showers.

    According to MET department, monsoon will arrive in NCR on Sunday.

    The record of last 14 years has been broken this year, making it the wettest June.

    Delhi Metro hit by technical snag for second consecutive day

    The Red Line of Delhi Metro, which connects Rithala in West Delhi to Dilshad Garden in East Delhi, was hit by technical glitch on Saturday, causing the passengers to wait for over two hours.

    It happened when an overhead-wire snagged, halting metro services between Kashmere Gate and Shastri Park stations.

    On Friday as well, the blue line and violet line were affected by glitches.

    Three-storey building collapses in East Delhi

    A three-storey building collapsed in the early hours of Sunday in East Delhi's Laxmi Nagar, injuring five people.

    According to the fire department, that received the call around 1:30 am, the injuries caused were minor.

    Residents claimed that no action was taken by the building owners despite several complaints against them for not maintaining the structure.
