    Two sisters were reportedly shot dead by a group of unidentified individuals in Southwest Delhi in the early hours of Sunday over an alleged argument over a loan given by their brother.

    According to several reports, the RK Puram Police Station in Delhi received a call at around 4:40am stating that some people had shot at the caller's sisters.

    Police reveal identities of victims

    Speaking to the news outlet The Indian Express, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South West Delhi, Manoj C, confirmed that the prime accused and his associate had been apprehended.

    Reportedly, the victims have been identified as 29-year-old Pinky and 30-year-old Jyoti.

    The police said that both sisters were shot and died at the Safdarjung Hospital during treatment.

    Brother of victims narrates incident

    As per the victims' brother, Lala, his elder brother Lalit gave a loan to someone and had a heated argument when he went to take it back on Saturday.

    "He came back, and we were sleeping when some people started knocking on our door at around 2:10am. All my relatives stayed in the same locality, and I called them up for help," he added.

    Lala further claimed that the attackers allegedly left after some time. However, they returned once again after some time with weapons.

    "They came to eliminate my brother, but my sisters came to rescue him, and they shot them," alleged the brother of the two slain sisters.

    Meanwhile, a purported video of the whole incident has also gone viral on social media.

    Kejriwal's reaction to RK Puram double murder

    Following the incident, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi, "Our thoughts are with the families of both women. May their souls rest in peace. The people of Delhi have started feeling very insecure."

    "Today, if Delhi's law and order were under the AAP government instead of L-G (lieutenant governor), then Delhi would have been safest," he added.

    Meanwhile, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Harish Khurana told PTI, "CM (Kejriwal) is raising fingers at others over this matter, but how many times did he meet with the Delhi Police commissioner or with the LG on the issue of law and order situation?"

    "How many times has he held meetings with the MPs on this issue? Only playing politics is his task."
