    IIT-Delhi inaugurates 1st international campus in Abu Dhabi

    The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, has inaugurated its first international campus in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

    This expansion demonstrates the institute's dedication to education and research excellence.

    Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, officially opened the new campus in a ceremony that also marked strategic partnerships with leading educational institutions in the region.

    Course details

    IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi Campus offers diverse academic programs

    The new IIT-Delhi campus in Abu Dhabi offers a wide array of academic programs, primarily focusing on engineering, computer science, and energy.

    The curriculum is designed to uphold the rigorous academic standards that IIT-Delhi is renowned for while promoting innovation and research.

    The goal of this new campus is to equip students with a world-class education, and preparing them for leadership roles across various industries.

    Admission criteria

    Admission details for 2024-25

    Admissions for academic year 2024-25, will be conducted through two modes: the Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET) 2024 and the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024.

    To be eligible for CAET 2024, candidates should secured at least a 75% aggregate mark in their Class XII Board examinations or rank in the top 20 percentile.

    The age criteria stipulate that students should have been born on or after October 1, 1999, with a two-year age relaxation under UAE national policy.

    Examination rules

    Admission guidelines and JEE Advanced eligibility

    Candidates can attempt the entrance test a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

    They should have appeared for their Class XII examinations for the first time either in the current year, or the previous year.

    Candidates should not have been admitted to any IIT previously.

    For Indian nationals who qualify via JEE Advanced 2024, they will follow the same eligibility rules as for IIT-Delhi in India.

    Financial aid

    Tuition fees and scholarships

    For students qualifying via JEE Advanced 2024, the tuition fees at IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi will be equivalent to those at the New Delhi campus.

    The remaining tuition fee shall be waived, making the program financially accessible.

    Also, all JEE Advanced-qualified students will get a monthly stipend of AED 2,000 and a waiver on hostel fees for double occupancy.

    A yearly travel allowance of up to AED 4,000 will also be provided for trips home.

    Collaborations

    IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi forms strategic partnerships with UAE universities

    During inauguration, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed announced partnerships between IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi and leading higher education institutes in the UAE.

    These include Khalifa University, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, and Zayed University.

    The collaborations aim to improve research opportunities, facilitate student/faculty exchanges, and also promote joint academic programs.
