Xiaomi's recently launched budget offering, the Redmi 6A, went on sale in India today via Amazon and Mi.com, starting 12pm.

The key highlights of the phone are its HD+ 18:9 display, AI-powered face unlock, dual VoLTE, and 13MP rear camera.

In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi Redmi 6A starts at Rs. 5,999.

    Here's more.

    Details

    Pricing and Launch offers

The Redmi 6A costs Rs. 5,999 for the 2GB RAM/16GB storage variant while the 2GB RAM/32GB storage model is priced at Rs. 6,999.

Notably, these are introductory prices applicable for two months and may be revised if the rupee continues to decrease against the dollar.

Further, Reliance Jio customers will get Rs. 2,200 cashback (in form of discount vouchers) and 100GB of additional data.

Up front, the phone has a traditional looking 5.45-inch HD+ (720x1440 pixels) display with chunkier top and bottom bezels giving it an 18:9 aspect ratio.

On the back, it has a horizontally-positioned single rear camera with an LED flash module and speaker grille.

Notably, Redmi 6A lacks a fingerprint sensor and relies on face scanning or password/pattern for secure unlocking of the device.

For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

On the back, Redmi 6A has a 13MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and supports HDR. The primary camera also gets nifty features such as low light photo enhancement, burst mode, and scene selection.
