Their base color will be lavender and they will be smaller.

They will have a motif of 'RANI KI VAV' on the backside to show the country's rich heritage.

The dimensions of the banknote will be 66 mm × 142 mm.

New notes won't impact circulation of existing ones: Report

Although the new notes will be smaller than the existing ones, they will be bigger than the new Rs. 10 notes, media reports suggested.

Reportedly, these new notes will be issued from August or September.

Several reports also hinted that circulation of the existing Rs. 100 notes won't be affected with the news notes.

    Printing

Indigenous ink being used to print new notes

The printing of these notes has started in the printing press in Dewas using indigenous ink.

Notably, a foreign ink was used to print Rs. 2,000 notes in the beginning but now the press has managed to produce the same ink in India.

The new Rs. 100 notes will also have several micro-security features which will be visible under ultraviolet light

    Information

Since demonetization, many new currency notes were issued by RBI
