Mark Zuckerberg apologizes to Britons through full-page newspaper ads

Following the backlash over the Facebook-Cambridge Analytica scandal, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has taken out full page adverts in British newspapers to apologize.
It all started after political consultancy Cambridge Analytica got its hands on the data of over 50 million Facebook users.
The world's largest social media platform is now facing increasing amounts of scrutiny in both USA and Europe.

"We have a responsibility to protect your information. If we can't, we don't deserve it," said the advert, signed by Mark Zuckerberg, which was published in several British newspapers.

Facebook shares tumbled, Zuckerberg lost billions due to scandal
Facebook's predicament began after a whistleblower revealed that political consultancy Cambridge Analytica had improperly accessed the data of over 50 million Facebook users to build profiles of American voters, which were allegedly used to aid US President Trump win the Presidential Election in 2016.
The allegations, which were covered by several newspapers, sent Facebook shares tumbling and wiped $10bn off Zuckerberg's fortune.
