    What's the story

At the ongoing Auto Expo event in Greater Noida, Volkswagen has taken the wraps off the T-Roc mid-sized SUV.

The new car comes with an attractive design, feature-loaded interiors, and a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter petrol engine.

The bookings for the SUV are live at a token amount of Rs. 25,000, and it is likely to hit the showrooms in the next couple of months.

    Exteriors

A look at the Volkswagen T-Roc

The Volkswagen T-Roc comes with a trendy look featuring a dual-tone paint scheme, a curved roof design, and a horizontal slat grille.

The car runs on angular-looking alloy wheels and houses all-LED headlamps, LED DRLs, and indicator-mounted ORVMs.

Besides that, it gets skid plates on both the ends, a roof-mounted spoiler, and LED taillights.

    Interiors

    Inside the cabin

The T-Roc comes with a five-seater cabin featuring body-colored highlights around the dashboard and center console, leatherette upholstery, as well as a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel.

The car offers dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with support for connectivity features.

In addition, it gets driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, and a reverse parking camera with sensors.

    Information

    Power and performance

The India-specific Volkswagen T-Roc will draw power from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 150bhp of maximum power and 340Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to an automatic 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) that sends power to the front wheels.

    Pricing

Finally, what will be the pricing?

Volkswagen India is likely to launch the T-Roc SUV in the country sometime in mid-April 2020. As far as pricing is concerned, it is likely to cost somewhere around Rs. 23 lakh.

Once launched, the premium car will take on the likes of Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson (facelift), and Tata Harrier.
