    What's the story

    In a remarkable sales performance, the Mahindra Scorpio emerged as the top-selling seven-seater vehicle in India for April 2024.

    The model saw a total of 14,807 units sold during this period.

    This figure marks a significant rise from last year's combined sales of the Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N models, which totaled 9,617 units.

    This represents an impressive year-on-year growth rate of 54%.

    Strong contenders

    Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Mahindra Bolero follow closely

    The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga secured the second position, with a total of 13,544 units sold.

    This figure indicates a substantial YoY growth of 145% in comparison to the 5,532 units sold during the same period last year.

    The third spot was claimed by Mahindra Bolero, which hit domestic sales of 9,537 units last month, marking a modest YoY growth of 5%.

    Rising stars

    Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV700 show significant growth

    The combined sales of the Toyota Innova Crysta and Hycross amounted to 7,103 units in April 2024, marking a growth of 47% compared to the same period in 2023.

    The Mahindra XUV700 secured fifth place with a total of 6,134 units sold last month.

    This demonstrates a significant YoY sales increase of 29% as against the same period last year.

    Fluctuations

    Kia Carens and Maruti Suzuki XL6 witness mixed results

    The sixth position in the seven-seater vehicle sales for April 2024, was occupied by Kia Carens with sales of 5,328 units.

    However, this figure represents a decline of 13% compared to the same time last year.

    The Maruti Suzuki XL6 followed with a sale of 3,509 units in April, marking a YoY growth of 23% from the previous year's sales.

    Decline

    Toyota Fortuner, Tata Safari, and Renault Triber see sales dip

    The Toyota Fortuner and Tata Safari took the eighth and ninth positions respectively, in the seven-seater vehicle sales for April.

    The Fortuner sold 2,325 units last month, marking a YoY sales decline of 10%.

    The Tata Safari sold 1,716 units, indicating a sales drop of 15% in comparison to the same period in 2023.

    Rounding out the top 10 was the Renault Triber with sales of 1,671 units, representing a YoY negative volume growth of 20%.
