    What's the story

Italian automaker Benelli has increased the prices of its Imperiale 400 motorcycle in India.

After the latest price-revision, the motorbike has become costlier by up to Rs. 5,524 and begins at Rs. 1.92 lakh.

As for the highlights, the bike has a retro-inspired look, offers a semi-digital instrument console, and is fueled by a BS6-compliant 374cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine.

    Context

    Why does this story matter?

After the 502C, TRK 251, and Leoncino 500, Benelli has now raised the prices of its Imperiale 400 model in India. This has probably been done to offset rising input costs.

The Imperiale 400 is the brand's entry-level bike in the country and has received no cosmetic or mechanical changes. It rivals the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda CB350.

    Design

The bike has split-style seats and halogen headlight

The Benelli Imperiale 400 sits on a double-cradle frame and has a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, split-style seats, a pillion grab rail, a peashooter exhaust, and a circular headlight.

The bike packs a halogen headlamp, a bulb taillight, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and rides on spoked wheels.

It can store 12 liters of fuel and is offered in Red, Black, and Silver shades.

    Information

    It runs on a 21hp, 374cc engine

The Benelli Imperiale 400 is powered by a BS6-compliant 374cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 20.7hp and a peak torque of 29Nm. The motor is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

    Safety

It gets 41mm telescopic front forks

To ensure the safety of the rider, the Benelli Imperiale 400 is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding on the roads while braking.

Suspension duties on the motorbike are taken care of by 41mm telescopic forks on the front side and preload-adjustable dual springs on the rear end.
