    What's the story

MG Motor is all set to introduce a CVT automatic variant of the Hector SUV in India on February 11.

The new CVT transmission will be offered with the 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol motor and it will join the existing DCT gearbox option. However, no other changes related to design, interiors, and features are expected.

    Here's recalling the MG Hector.

    Exteriors

    MG Hector: At a glance

The MG Hector has a chrome-studded grille, a muscular bonnet with sculpted lines, silvered skid plates, as well as a rear window washer and defogger.

For lighting, there are sleek LED headlamps, cornering fog lamps, LED DRLs, and LED taillights.

On the sides, the car is flanked by silver roof rails, power-adjustable ORVMs, blacked-out B-pillars, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

    Interiors

    Inside the cabin

The MG Hector offers a 5-seater cabin with ventilated leather seats, a dual-tone dashboard, ambient lighting, power windows, a multifunctional steering wheel, and automatic climate control.

It packs eight speakers and a 10.39-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and in-house i-SMART connectivity suite.

For safety, there are six airbags, a 360-degree-view camera, crash sensors, and an engine immobilizer.

    Engine

    Power and performance

The Hector SUV is offered with three BS6-compliant engine options: a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel motor that makes 167.7hp/350Nm, a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol mill that delivers 141hp/250Nm, and a 1.5-liter petrol hybrid unit that also generates 141hp/250Nm.

Transmission duties are currently handled by a 6-speed manual and a DCT gearbox. The new CVT transmission will be available with the 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol motor.

    Information

How much will the CVT variant cost?

The official pricing details of the Hector CVT will be announced at the time of launch tomorrow. For reference, the SUV starts at Rs. 12.89 lakh and goes up to Rs. 18.32 lakh (both prices ex-showroom, New Delhi).
