    What's the story

MG Motor has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) portfolio with the launch of the all-black Comet EV Blackstorm edition in India.

The new model, which comes at a price of ₹7.8 lakh (ex-showroom), is based on the top-end Exclusive variant of the standard Comet EV.

It sports a Starry Black exterior shade with red accents on alloy wheels, front bumper, and 'Morris Garages' lettering on the hood.

    A look inside and out

The Comet EV Blackstorm edition features an all-black exterior with red highlights on the skid plate and side cladding.

The steel wheels are painted black with a red star-like pattern. A 'Blackstorm' badge is also prominently placed on the fender to set this special edition model apart.

Inside, it gets all-black seat upholstery with red stitching and 'Blackstorm' badges on the front headrests.

    Amenities and safety features

The MG Comet EV Blackstorm edition carries the same feature list as the regular model.

It gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a driver's display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and manual AC.

On the safety front, it offers two airbags (as standard), ABS, EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold assist, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rear parking camera with sensors.

    Performance

    Performance and battery specifications

The MG Comet EV Blackstorm comes with a 17.3kWh battery pack, mated to a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) electric motor.

This combination offers a power output of 42hp and torque of 110Nm.

The company claims that this model can go up to 230km on a single charge, making it an ideal option for daily commuting.

    Pricing and market competition
