    What's the story

German automaker Mercedes-Benz has introduced a performance-oriented 35 AMG variant for its luxury SUV range, the GLB.

The new model promises a top-speed of 250kmph and can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 5.2 seconds.

Meanwhile, the company will also introduce a more powerful 45 AMG variant of the car sometime soon.

    Here's our roundup.

    Exteriors

    A look at the car

The GLB 35 AMG offers a head-turning sporty look featuring a big AMG-specific chrome grille with company's logo, silver-colored skid plates, and blacked-out wheel arches as well as side claddings.

The car also houses dual exhausts, indicator-mounted electronically adjustable ORVMs, and 19-inch AMG wheels as standard.

Besides that, it gets an all-LED lighting setup for headlamps, turn indicators, and taillights.

    Interiors

    Inside the cabin

Inside, the Mercedes-Benz GLB 35 AMG gets a seven-seater luxurious cabin with a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, AMG steering wheel, and ambient lighting.

The car offers a fully-digital instrument cluster along with a touch-screen MBUX infotainment system with connectivity features.

Moreover, it also gets safety features like driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, a parking camera with sensors, and more.

    Engine

    Power and performance

The GLB 35 AMG draws power from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that comes mated to a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which sends power to all the wheels through 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.

This mill churns out 301bhp of power and 400Nm of peak torque.

Also, the car has a top speed of 250kmph and it can do a 0-100kmph sprint in just 5.2 seconds.

    Information

    Will it arrive in India?

There is no word on the availability of Mercedes-Benz GLB 35 AMG in India. However, some reports suggest that the German automaker will bring the GLB-Class range as a replacement to existing B-Class line-up and will also introduce the 35 AMG variant in near future.
