    What's the story

Honda is planning to bring 10 new electric two-wheelers to India in the next five years.

The company's first step into the Indian EV market came last month with the launch of two models, QC1 and Activa e:, at the 2025 Auto Expo.

As part of its larger strategy, Honda will be releasing four EVs between 2025 and 2027.

    Manufacturing hub

EV manufacturing plant to be operational by 2028

Separately, Honda is also working on setting up a dedicated EV manufacturing factory in India, which will be fully operational by 2028.

The company chose India as a production hub for its next-gen EVs as it believes the Indian market will grow rapidly over the next decade.

This growth will be driven by higher EV adoption rates across the country.

    Sales target

Honda's future EVs: Aiming for 3L units per annum

While we don't know much about Honda's upcoming EVs, we do know that the company plans to launch a total of 10 electric two-wheelers in the next five years.

The four models slated to debut between 2025 and 2027 are expected to achieve a cumulative sales volume of three lakh units per annum.

This ambitious goal highlights Honda's commitment to India's burgeoning EV market.

    Customer focus

Vehicles will be tailored to Indian needs

Honda's future EV offerings are likely to be more in tune with the exact needs of Indian customers.

The company intends to take lessons from the shortcomings of its first models, Activa e: and QC1, and those of its rivals.

This customer-centric approach is part of Honda's plan to make sure its upcoming electric two-wheelers cater to the distinct needs and tastes of Indians.
