    What's the story

Benelli has revised the price of its cruiser motorcycle, the 502C, in India.

This is the second time the Italian automaker has hiked the price of the bike since its launch in July last year.

The two-wheeler is now dearer by Rs. 5,000. After the price revision, it starts at Rs. 5.25 lakh for the Matte Cognac Red model.

    Context

    Why does this story matter?

Rising input costs have led many automakers to hike the prices of their vehicles. Now, Benelli has followed suit and increased the price of its 502C cruiser motorcycle for the second time in India.

The first time, it had received a hefty hike of Rs. 22,000 in December 2021 and this time around, the prices have gone up by Rs. 5,000.

    Design

The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels

The Benelli 502C sports a muscular fuel tank, a curved seat, an upswept exhaust, an oval-shaped headlight, a rear-tire-hugger-mounted number plate, and a high-set handlebar.

It houses an all-LED lighting setup, a digital instrument cluster, and rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

The two-wheeler is available in Matte Cognac Red, Glossy Black, and Matte Black color options.

    Information

It is fueled by a 47hp, 500cc engine

The Benelli 502C draws power from a BS6-compliant 500cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motor generates a maximum power of 46.8hp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 46Nm at 6,000rpm.

    Safety

    It has inverted front forks

For the safety of the rider, the Benelli 502C is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS for improved handling on the roads.

Suspension duties on the motorcycle are taken care of by inverted telescopic forks on the front side and a mono-shock on the rear end.

    Information

    Benelli 502C: Revised pricing

Following the latest price-hike, the Benelli 502C starts at Rs. 5.25 lakh for the Matte Cognac Red model and goes up to Rs. 5.35 lakh for the Matte Black variant (both prices, ex-showroom).
