    Tata Safari to be launched on February 22; bookings open

    What's the story

    Tata Motors will launch its 2021 Safari SUV in India on February 22 and deliveries will begin on the same day. The company has started accepting bookings for the car via its dealerships on a payment of Rs. 30,000.

    As for the highlights, the four-wheeler has a sporty design, an upmarket 3-row cabin, and a 2.0-liter Kyrotec turbo-diesel engine.

    2021 Tata Safari: At a glance

    The 2021 Tata Safari is based on the Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture (OMEGARC) platform.

    It comes with a chrome studded tri-arrow grille, Xenon HID headlamps, twin LED taillights and a stepped roof design. The vehicle is flanked by roof rails with chrome inserts, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

    It is available in Royale Blue, Daytona Gray, and Orcus White colors.

    Power and performance

    The 2021 Tata Safari draws power from a BS6-compliant 2.0-liter Kyrotec turbo-diesel engine which generates 170hp of maximum power and 350Nm of peak torque. The motor is linked either to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.

    A peek inside the cabin

    The 2021 Tata Safari gets a 6/7-seater cabin with a panoramic sunroof, a powered driver's seat, an electronic parking brake, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, and a multifunctional power steering wheel.

    The SUV houses a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment console with support for iRA connected car technology.

    Multiple airbags, terrain response modes, and hill-descent control ensure the passengers' safety.

    What about the pricing?
