    German automaker Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2020 edition of its popular SUV, the GLC-Class, in India at a starting price Rs. 52.75 lakh.

    The new model comes with several styling tweaks, a new AI-enabled MBUX infotainment system, as well as emission-friendly BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engine options.

    Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class: At a glance

    The facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class features a sporty look with new front and rear bumpers as well as a restyled chrome-finished grille that houses the iconic company logo.

    The car also sports glossy-looking skid plates, roof rails, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and chrome highlights around the windows.

    Moreover, it runs on 19-inch alloy wheels and gets an all-LED lighting setup as standard.

    Inside the cabin

    The five-seater GLC-Class comes with a luxurious cabin featuring a panoramic sunroof and power-adjustable ventilated seats wrapped in leather.

    It also gets a new 10.25-inch infotainment system that runs on the company's AI-enabled MBUX user interface and offers several hi-tech features including a virtual assistant, augmented reality-based navigation system, and more.

    Additionally, the car also gets features like wireless charging and ambient lighting.

    What about powertrain options?

    The 2020 GLC-Class is offered in two BS6-compliant engine options: a 2.0-liter diesel and a 2.0-liter petrol. Notably, both these engine come mated to a 9G Tronic automatic transmission.

    The diesel unit produces 194bhp of power and can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 7.9 seconds, while the petrol mill churns out 197bhp of power and can do 0-100kmph in 7.8 seconds.

    As for the pocket pinch, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class costs Rs. 52.75 lakh for the petrol-based variant and Rs. 57.75 lakh for the diesel-powered model. Lastly, it goes up against rivals like BMW X3, Audi Q5, Land Rover Discover Sport, and Volvo XC60.
